The Town of Hilliard has several recreation facilities made possible with financial assistance provided by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection through the Florida Recreation Development Assistance Program and services provided by the Hilliard Parks & Recreation Department. The Town of Hilliard is able to offer recreation to its community with a variety of options and with several lo
cations throughout the Town. The Hilliard Fitness Center (YMCA of Florida’s First Coast branch from December 1, 2001 to January 1, 2011) and Oxford Street Park with playground & swimming pool are located at 37516 Oxford Street. The Baseball Grounds and Park of North Oxford is located at 371195 Oxford Street. The D.H. “Buck” Buchanan Town Square Park (with playground, picnic pavilions, skate park, and Gym Facility) is located at 27531 West Third Avenue. In April 2008, the Town completed Phase II of the Buck Buchanan Town Square Park (picnic pavilion, playground improvements, additional parking and restroom building) and Phase III of the Oxford Street Park (kiddy splash pad, sand volleyball court and restroom building). In 2009, the Town completed Phase III of the Buck Buchanan Town Square Park by installed a highly requested Skate Park behind the Town’s Gym Facility on Town property that was once leased to the cable television company that served as their satellite location. On December 25th, 2016, the Fitness Center officially became a 24-hour facility.
