Storm,
I hope everyone is having a great 2023. It has been a great joy coaching all of these fine young men over the last few years. We thought we had come to a conclusion with coaching two years ago and were blessed with the opportunity of coaching Storm. Life is a journey that moves fast and changes many times. I’m grateful that my journey included coaching baseball over the last 23 years.
I have decided it is time to ‘retire’ from coaching to adjust to changes in our lives. I can never thank you all enough for allowing me to coach your sons throughout the last several years as Red Raiders, All-Stars and Storm. I have a wealth of wonderful life moments gained from coaching these boys and will forever cherish those moments. I’ve seen these boys grow into fine young men. I look forward to following along their life journeys to see the great things they accomplish. We’ve seen these young men achieve great things through their hard work and dedication to baseball. They won many championships including 12U league champs, 14U league champs, 14U Santa Cop champs and 14U North Dallas Interlock Champs. This group of players was the only team from HVABSA to win the Santa Cop Tournament and the North Dallas Interlock Championship. I know these young men will forever cherish these achievements throughout their lives. Maverick still gets his championship rings out and admires them from time to time. That makes me happy that the boys have those rings to reflect on their time together and what they accomplished. The best aspect of this team was these boys all cared about each other and are friends. As time passes those relationships will be what stands out for them and I’m happy to have been apart of that journey.
I’ve had the privilege of having great assistant coaches who are even better men. Their dedication to your boys has been inspiring. I’m happy to call them all friends. Thank you to Brent Myers, Alex Clements, Cole Ellis and Brian Cleary. You guys are awesome and I’ll always cherish the memories we have together as coaches with the Red Raiders, All-Stars and Storm.
Thank you to all the amazing parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and friends who have supported these boys over the years. We’ve always had great team chemistry and we appreciate all of you for your support.
The Future of Storm
I’m actively working on finding a replacement for the players who are returning for this spring baseball season. There will be a Storm team. Please continue the process of registering if your player wants to continue playing baseball with Storm. The registration site is opened and runs through January 31. I will notify everyone once a new coach is chosen and will pass on contact information.
Once again, I want to thank you all for allowing me to coach your sons and go on this journey together. Baseball is my favorite sport for a reason. To me it’s a sport about family. Baseball teaches us to put the team above ourselves, to work hard to make the team the best it can and to support those around us so they can achieve their best. Family , like baseball, teaches us the importance of everyone doing their part to be successful. Parenting, like coaching baseball, is done through unconditional love with the goal of teaching our children how to become adults. Our baseball family will always be a part of my life. I will miss the practices, the games and the moments spent together on the baseball field. Thankfully, we’ll always have the memories we made throughout the last several years. What I’ll cherish the most are those memories created with you all!
Thanks for everything!
Coach Aaron
