Our 2026 Men’s Club Championship wrapped up this weekend. For the 2nd time in four years, regular play concluded with a three-way tie for first place with the Steve Wright, Russ Brown and Jeff Wright rinks finishing 5-1. To determine a winner, the three teams entered a three-game round robin competition.

Congratulations to the Club Champions: Jeff Wright, Larry Marshall Jr., Nick Brenner, and Dave Murawski. Jay Koziarz joined the team as a super sub and contributed to the strong finish.

Our runners-up were Russ Brown, Jim Calaway, John Vickery, and Pete Barber. John Beckwith joined the team as a super sub for the middle part of the season and contributed to a string of wins.

🥌 79th Annual DAR CURTIS BONSPIEL — FEB 28–MAR 1, 2026 🥌

Calling all MCA curlers! The oldest statewide competition in Illinois returns to Exmoor Country Club, and registration is officially OPEN!

Started in 1947, the Dar Curtis was built for newer curlers to test out strategy, grow their game, and compete in a fun, club-based environment.

TEAM REQUIREMENTS:
• 2 players with ≤5 years experience
• 2 players with ≥6 years experience

WHAT TO EXPECT:

✔ Free MCA-sponsored event
✔ 4-Event bonspiel (pins for winners & runners-up!)
✔ Limited to 16 teams
✔ Active MCA club membership required
✔ Players cover their own food & beverage

On January 9, six teams from our men's league participated in the Annual Jack Clements Bonspiel, a one-evening, two-game point spiel.

Jeff Wright, Chad Waynee, Jim Draths, and Guy Ponticiello came out as champions! The runners-up rink consisted of Steve Wright, Jim Calaway, Jeff Starzec, and Jack Manierre.
