It legit makes me sad when I see people obsessing over macros, “healthy” eating, working out, or their unhappiness with their physique..
When I first started seeing a therapist 5 years ago for my ED, she challenged me with my view of fitness..
I remember saying to her, “If that’s the case, the majority of the Fitness community has eating/exercise disorders!”
She shrugged with a half smile and total confidence in her eyes, “maybe.”
I didn’t understand then, but totally get it now like someone V8 thumped me in the head..
It’s all connected.
All of these beautiful people obsessing over working out this many times and eating this much of only this type of food so we can look like xyz for 3 seconds until our next cycle, water bloat, hormonal shift, a single dessert for the month, etc.. While bits of pieces of the rest of our lives are neglected. And hating on ourselves for never being perfect enough the whole time..
I’m over it. Your life does not need to revolve around macros and the gym.
It’s possible to exercise out of happiness and love for your body.. instead of punishment or trying to “be better.”
BITCH, YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL.
YOU TOO, SIR.
This is not a popular opinion, especially in the fitness community.
But who profits off of body dysmorphia and eating disorders? 👀
I’ve gained A LOT of happy moments and more peaceful thoughts since this revelation..
•Enjoying different types of exercise
•Cooking for fun
•Dinner dates at restaurants
•Nights at home with the kids
•Weekend family activities
•Organizing more aspects of my life
•More time with loved ones
•Healthier relationship with myself
•Finding new hobbies I love
•Learning more about other facets of my personality
I encourage you to also find balance and peace with your body.
