Just took delivery of our new Pyrahna Fusion SOT Kayaks!!! Yes, we have more than 2. These are great on both flat water but can also handle rapids up to class III. Do not miss out.

We will be using these boats throughout the summer on our day adventures as well as our French Broad River Trip from July 30 to July 31.

Outdoor excitement offered on a daily basis.  We will have a section for the younger crew (7-11) and a section for older ones (10-14) - we also offer a private adventure on Thursdays for a wider range of ages (5+).  Days are packed with kayaking, SUP, or One Wheel adventures.

A day in the life of an Explorer…..

Join other campers at 9am to begin your adventure. Head to Kings Mountain Pointe in Uhwarrie for some stand up paddle board or kayak instruction – learn how to inflate, add fin(s), safety precautions, and then head out for a short water adventure. Upon returning the group will get a fire started as we prepare for lunch – a warm lunch dessert will be prepared by the campers over an open fire. After lunch we will try our hands at nine holes of disc golf and a leg of the weeklong team adventure race. Last adventure of the day we head to Jumping Off Rock Trailhead and hike in along streams and small waterfalls, hoping to find a water hole big enough to swim in. We will also be teaching the campers different ways of water purification.

Or it could be……

A morning of bouldering and climbing at Pilot Mountain State Park followed up with a lunch near the pinnacle area. During lunch we will do some instruction on one burner cooking where campers will learn about a number of different camping stoves. After lunch it is off to the for some kayak instruction at the Yadkin section of Pilot Mountain – if campers are feeling confident enough we will also do some kayak assisted and unassisted wet entries.

You never know exactly how a day will go at ECOS. The setting, group dynamics, and weather make each day a unique experience.

Check out our 2020 Adventure Camps. We've been doing this over 20 years - just in MD. Now we are rolling out programs so the Triad can join in on the fun.

Explorers camps are full of different adventures  each day.  Campers will try their hand at stand up paddle board, kayaking, hiking, and bouldering.  There will also be great events like one-wheel racing, finding the best waterfalls and swimming holes, and "Amazing Race" style games.
