Helping you get stronger, move better & have fun doing it! 1-on-1 private training, virtual training & group classes. My journey in fitness started back when I was a newlywed trying to start a family in 2007. I was overweight and unable to conceive. I joined a local gym and took my first Zumba class. You know when you feel you just found the most amazing thing that fits you so well? I was a dancer
for the first 12 years of my life and after I gave it up, Zumba brought it back into my life. I met a friend in class that loved it as much as I did and we decided to try out different classes together. We motivated each other to hit up the gym almost every day during the week, then we added to our classes by taking multiple classes each day (yoga to spin, Pilates then Zumba, Body pump to kickboxing). We were power houses, losing weight, feeling stronger, having fun and loving ourselves. One day I got the news that she was moving away and it crushed me. The gym wouldn’t be the same anymore without her. I didn’t find anyone else to share my fitness world with so I decided to step out of my comfort zone and get licensed to teach Zumba Fitness. In regards to having a baby? That didn’t happen naturally sadly. I literally had one good egg and that’s my Maddy. Our world turned upside down to have her but she was worth every tear, every heartache, and every effort of our being. I was licensed and started to teach Zumba in 2010, brought Maddy into the world in 2011 and amped up my fitness classes. Each year I would get licensed to teach a new Zumba Fitness format and add each format to my schedule. Although Zumba is definitely my favorite format to teach, I wanted to get back into teaching other formats to vary up my routine and be able to offer safe and effective classes so I was certified as a Group Fitness Instructor through the Athletics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA). I’ve taught and still teach, cardio/HIIT classes, strength classes and spin classes, etc. I worked at as many gyms as I could fit into my schedule meeting new people, making BEST friends, and loving my job. I started teaching at Riegel Ridge the year I was licensed. I convinced my hubby to move here in 2017 and I’ve slowly dwindled my classes at other gyms so I now call the Ridge home base and found a schedule that fits perfectly into my life and without overworking my body. You know what’s so amazing though? Thanks to teaching virtually I have danced again with SOOOOO many people from the gyms I’ve taught at over the years! Also people who have moved away have joined back in on the fun. So, here we are today, teaching in-person at the Ridge AND working out virtually with the people I connected with over the years. I consider myself incredibly lucky to be able to continue to do what I love to do, meet new fabulous people constantly and help people find love in fitness and loving themselves. Thank YOU for continuing to smile, laugh and sweat with me. If I didn’t have you in my classes I would have never been able to grow, I wouldn’t have had a reason to continue learning and offering more. If it weren’t for you I wouldn’t have my story and to that I’m eternally grateful. I look forward to seeing what the future looks like, I hope you continue to enjoy the ride with me.
