End of a great 2022 Season Summary!
Spartans continued to grow as a formidable force in leather ball cricket in Long Island throughout the year. Team showed great consistency by reaching the playoffs/ last 4 of all the competitions despite different challenges. No team built organically becomes a champion overnight and the progress shown by the team in little over 1 year is next to none. Our season was lit with amazing team and individual performances throughout the season, living such moments together gives us added boost to continue the hard work and maximize the potential to be the BEST!
We participated in a total of 2 leagues (LIPL & CCL) throughout the season playing 4 different competitions (T25 & T20).
LIPL (T25 & T20)
We started with a bang in T25, winning 6 of our 8 league games and easily qualifying for the semi finals. Ashraf Umar and Ravi Patel were in great batting form along with Yash Panchal in bowling whose season ended with a horrific eye injury, he was having a great series with the ball and the economy of 2.75 still remains the best! Some unfortunate injuries during the league stages and an off day meant our journey was cut short in the semifinals.
In T20s, we had a similar journey reaching the semifinals by winning 6 of our 9 league games but again coming up short when it mattered. We had some good contributions with bat and ball but also a lot of learnings along the way. All in all we experienced all the bittersweet moments throughout the season together as ONE group and vowed to learn from them to be back even better.

1. Ravi Patel (Runs: 380, Avg: 42.2, 50s: 3)
2. Ashraf Umar (Runs: 317, Avg: 23, 50s -1, 100s- 1)
3. Vishal Gaur (Runs: 268, Avg: 33.5, 50s -1)
Bowling:
1. Vishal Gaur (19 Wickets)
2. Vamshi Lavang (12 Wickets)
3. Joji Babu & Mandip Prajapati (11 Wickets)
CCL (T25 & T20)
Commonwealth Cricket League in Long Island is one of the biggest leagues in terms of competing teams and Spartans participated in T25 & T20s regular morning division. T25 had a total of 32 teams and T20 had a total of 28 teams. Once again, we played some great cricket during the group stages throughout the season with some exciting nail bitting finishes and some one sided affairs. In T25 playoffs, we were really challenged with 3-4 of our regular starters missing due to different reasons but the team fought hard and lost. In T20 Semifinals, after overcoming difficult conditions the team was on top but lost out to 1 person playing some extra ordinary shorts and snatching the win from us in last few overs which also drew an end to our 2022 season. The close defeat was the most painful of the all but as always we regroup and go again!

1. Vishal Gaur (25 Wickets)
2. Mandip Prajapati (23 Wickets)
3. Rohan Tendulkar (16 Wickets)
Our 2022 season was really promising but unfortunately without any championships. However, we win together, we lose together and as always have fun together! The team can only be proud of the progress made throughout the season and comeback with better preparation!
