Every catcher has this moment.

The moment where a ball in the dirt feels bigger than it actually is.

We slow it down.
Work the fear out of it.
Build trust — one rep at a time.

Build confidence where fear used to live. Become a 🧱 wall!

Most hitters don’t need a complete swing overhaul.

They need:
• Better pitch selection
• Better timing
• More confidence

Because hitting isn’t just mechanics.

It’s what you swing at.
When you swing.
& how much you trust it.

This is where elite hitters separate themselves.

Training to move efficiently.

The water bag forces:
• Balance
• Connection
• Sequencing

Control the chaos.
Power without control doesn’t play.

Your pop time isn’t just your arm, it’s your hands too.

If the ball is getting stuck in your palm, you’re already late.

One of my go to drills for building elite finger dexterity (the ability to move the ball quickly & precisely from the mitt to your fingers).

Simple & Effective.

Stop transferring the ball into your palm & start getting it directly in the fingers that throw.

Small details make a big difference behind the plate.

Show up. Do the work.

Work builds consistency.
Consistency builds confidence.

Confidence is 🔑
Not because it guarantees hits —
But because it lets you take your best swing every time.

Train it. Trust it.
Repeat it.

The difference is in the details.

Glove under the chin.
Arm relaxed and loaded.

From there, everything works THROUGH the ball, not at it.

Cleaner path.
Quicker presentation.

That’s how you turn borderline pitchers into called strikes.

Batting practice isn’t just about getting swings in… it’s where you build your standard.

Every round should have a purpose. Every swing should have intent.

uses the same two drills to groove sequencing and connection—getting the body and barrel working together the right way.

Build the feel …
So when it’s time to hit,
The body knows what to do.

Routines build results.

Best of the Best.

Named to Newsday’s Top 100.
Named in the Top 10 Catchers.

It’s not luck.

It’s hard work, dedication,
& commitment to their development.

We don’t stop here.

What are we training❓

🔘The Step Back Drill
It exaggerates the load & timing pattern so the hitter can feel how the body should sequence their swing.

⚠️ Purpose of the Drill
- Creates rhythym & timing, avoids a static stance
- Teaches proper weight transfer (backside engagement ➡️ forward move ➡️ rotation)
- Improves ground force & direction
- Helps timing & adjustability; learn to control tempo

🔘 Water Bag Swings
Adds instability & feedback, which forces the body to organize better during the movement

⚠️ Purpose of the Water Bag
- Forces the core to stabilize & the body to remain stacked & connected
- Exposes poor sequencing
- Trains controlled power; because of the weight, the hitter can’t muscle through the movement
- Improves posture & connection ➡️ hitter must move as one unit. If the posture breaks, the bag amplifies it.

In simple terms, the step-back teaches you how to move. The water bag teaches you how to control the move.

If the water is splashin everywhere, you swing probably is too!

Be consistent.

When hitters are driving the ball through the back of the cage, their swing typically has:
• Better extension
• Barrel on plane longer

It creates a longer hitting zone, meaning the bat travels with the pitch for a longer window vs. meeting the ball at one point.

The extra window is what saves the swing when the timing isn’t perfect.

Early timing ➡️ pull side gap
Late timing ➡️ opposite field gap

Were not building swings for a single perfect moment, were building swings for coverage across the zone.
