Constitutional Carry vs. Concealed Carry in North Carolina

North Carolina is considering Senate Bill 50, which would allow constitutional carry—letting legal gun owners carry concealed fi****ms without a permit. If passed, NC would become the 30th state to allow this.

However, the Concealed Handgun Permit (CHP) will still be available. A CHP is still needed to:
• Carry in 38 other states
• Speed up background checks for gun purchases

Current CHP requirements include:
• Being 21 or older
• NC residency
• Background check, fingerprints, and safety training

Supporters say the bill protects Second Amendment rights.
Opponents worry it could reduce public safety.

The bill is now in the NC House for debate.
