For Youth Development

We believe that all kids deserve opportunities to discover who they are and what they can achieve. Our Y focuses on preparing more kids for success in school and life by providing education and support, along with the physical and emotional guidance kids need to learn, grow and thrive. For Healthy Living

The Y brings families together, encourages good health and fosters con

nections through fitness, sports, child care and fun. Also our Y plays a key role in helping health seekers decrease their risk of lifestyle-related diseases and improve overall health. For Social Responsibility

The Y has been listening and responding to our community needs for over 40 years. We provide social services that support and empower people to overcome obstacles, provide volunteer opportunities, raise and award funds for financial assistance for those individuals and families that need a Y experience but cannot afford one. The Y collaborates with other organizations that share our values to build a healthier community

Some friendships begin with a handshake. Others begin with a shared commitment to staying active and connected.

Meet Luke, a member of the Hickory Foundation YMCA whose story spans from serving our country in the Air Force to contributing to one of history’s greatest achievements—the Apollo 11 mission.

Years ago, Luke and his wife began coming to the Y together. While she has since passed, the Y remains an important part of his life. Today, Luke continues to visit the Y to stay active, maintain his health, and spend time with the friends who have become like family.

For Luke, the Y is more than a place to work out. It’s a place of connection, belonging, and community.

Thank you, Luke, for your service, your friendship, and for reminding us that the relationships we build at the Y can last a lifetime.

💙 Watch Luke’s story and see how the Y continues to bring people together, every day.

Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.
