Venom Stars 16U Defeat Rowan Rattlers 16U On Multiple Hit Performance By Brooks Weaver

Brooks Weaver collected three hits in three at bats, as Venom Stars 16U defeated Rowan Rattlers 16U 16-4 on Saturday. Weaver doubled in the second inning, singled in the first inning, and singled in the third inning.

Venom Stars 16U scored nine runs in the second inning on the way to victory. Troy Davies induced Jacob Greene to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored, Weaver doubled, scoring two runs, Christopher Bass singled, scoring two runs, an error scored two runs, Brody Butler tripled, scoring one run, and Jeb Boykin singled, scoring one run.

Venom Stars 16U got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Landon Yopp doubled, scoring two runs, Kelbyn Mathis singled, scoring two runs, and Bass singled, scoring one run.

Venom Stars 16U added two runs in the third. Mathis singled down the left field line, making the score 16-4.

Easton Allen earned the win for Venom Stars 16U. The starter allowed one hit and four runs (one earned) over three innings, striking out four and walking three. Davies started on the hill for Rowan Rattlers 16U. The starter allowed 10 hits and 12 runs over one and one-third innings, striking out two and walking two.

Venom Stars 16U tallied 14 hits in the game. Weaver and Butler each collected three hits for Venom Stars 16U. Mathis and Bass each drove in three runs for Venom Stars 16U. Weaver stole two bases.

Easton Shehan led the team with two runs batted in. Ryan Lewis led Rowan Rattlers 16U with one hit in one at bat.

Christopher Bass’s Big Day Propels Venom Stars 16U Past Crusaders 16U

Christopher Bass collected three hits in three at bats, as Venom Stars 16U defeated Crusaders 16U 17-7 on Saturday at Phillip O. Berry Academy of Technology. Bass singled in the third inning, singled in the second inning, and singled in the third inning.

Venom Stars 16U scored nine runs in the third inning on the way to victory. Luke Sipka singled, scoring one run, Brody Butler singled, scoring one run, Jacob Greene drew a walk, scoring one run, Kelbyn Mathis drew a walk, scoring one run, Braden Borgia drew a walk, scoring one run, Bass singled, scoring two runs, and Butler singled, scoring one run.

Venom Stars 16U got on the board in the top of the first inning after Maddox Marley singled down the left field line, Greene doubled down the left field line, and Crusaders 16U committed an error, each scoring one run.

Venom Stars 16U added to their early lead in the top of the second inning when Jeb Boykin drew a walk, scoring one run, one run scored on a balk, and Brooks Weaver singled, scoring two runs.

Sipka stepped on the hill first for Venom Stars 16U. The starting pitcher allowed seven hits and six runs (four earned) over three innings, striking out five and walking one. Ayden Farragher led things off on the bump for Crusaders 16U. The starting pitcher allowed three hits and six runs (four earned) over one and one-third innings, striking out one and walking two. Butler appeared in relief for Venom Stars 16U.

Venom Stars 16U piled up 12 hits in the game. Weaver, Bass, and Butler each drove in two runs for Venom Stars 16U. Venom Stars 16U had a strong eye at the plate, collecting 10 walks for the game. Mathis, Boykin, Easton Allen, and Greene led the team with two free passes each. Allen and Bass each stole multiple bases for Venom Stars 16U. Venom Stars 16U ran wild on the base paths, piling up nine stolen bases for the game.

Matthew Eitner, Nick Walker, Darius Robertson, Bennett Shirley, Gavin King, and Judson Oliver each drove in one run for Crusaders 16U. Shirley led Crusaders 16U with two hits in two at bats.

Next up for Venom Stars 16U is a game at Rowan Rattlers 16U on Saturday.
