Keeping you updated! As we already posted an initial update, major changes are happening in regards to the NFA following the recent Silencer Shop Foundation v. ATF court ruling (effective August 13, 2026)! Here is how it breaks down:

​🟢 27 "Free" States: Suppressors & AOWs sourced through Silencer Shop now transfer over the counter like standard GCA items—just a Form 4473 and NICS background check! No eForm 4, no tax stamp, no registry, and no ATF wait time.
​🟡 15 NFA States (including GA): Local state law still requires Form 4 processing for suppressors and AOWs.
​🔵 Nationwide (SBRs & SBSs): Short-barreled rifles and shotguns still require a Form 4 in all legal states under separate Gun Control Act requirements.

Everyone has seen the news regarding the recent federal court ruling on NFA items. Because our store is a Silencer Shop Dealer listed among the plaintiffs, we’ve received many questions about how this impacts purchases today.

​Where things stand right now:

-​Current Operations: Until the ATF issues formal administrative guidance and updates processing workflows, all NFA transactions at our store will proceed under standard business-as-usual procedures.

-​Pending Transfers: If you have an Form 4 or approval currently in process, no additional action is needed from you right now.

​Next Steps: We are waiting on clear operational protocols from federal agencies and industry partners.

​Our top priority is making sure every transfer remains 100% compliant so your property and rights stay fully protected. We’ll keep you posted the moment official procedures are established!
