The floor is almost done! Thanks to Blake, Jade and his son Cain, for making it easy.

This is the "Denver floating floor" built specifically for judo. 3 inch closed cell polyethylene blocks (same material as pool noodles) glued to OSB sheets, with a second layer of OSB overlapping the seams, screwed together for more rigidity. When we lay down the brand new 2-inch thick Matsuru tatami on top, it becomes a pleasure to fall on. Slightly bouncy and giving, but firm enough to move quickly.
