Gearing up for May! Starting it off right with a Legs & Core workout.

I started with some standing footwork. The middle red spring works best for this sequence. Let’s move right into lunges standing in the well of the reformer, one foot on the floor, the other foot against the short box.

It’s important to note a safety requirement for standing in the well. You must control the carriage. If you lose control, you run the risk of slamming the carriage into your standing leg, which does not feel good. Please be safe!

Let’s try it without the assistance of hands on the foot bar. Next place the hands on the foot bar and add a knee to elbow plank. Then step both feet against the box and hold plank, add some knee tucks to really burn out your quads and core. Switch sides and repeat on the other leg. Next transition to standing on the platform and carriage, open and close the reformer slowly with control. Turn the toes out into second position and sumo squat, always moving slowly with precision and control. Add some controlled leg extension for extra spice.

I finished off with a plank and scapular isolation!
