📣 Important Update for Hesperus Passholders 📣

We understand that a season closure is not the news anyone was hoping for, and we share your disappointment. We are working hard to overcome these challenges and welcome you back to Hesperus in the future.

We are offering Hesperus passholders several options including an exchange or credit to purchase another season pass at the original spring 2023 rate. Hesperus passholders who purchased uphill skiing passes or uphill add-ons to Purgatory ski products will be issued a full refund.

Passholders, please submit this form with your name and let us know how you would like to proceed with your season pass 👉bit.ly/41DQmHE. Our ticket office will be in touch as soon as possible. Thank you for your understanding and support during this time.

We regret to inform our valued Hesperus Ski Area community of some disappointing news. In preparation for the 2023-2024 ski season, Hespie encountered an unexpected and major mechanical failure—the gearbox of the Bighorn Chairlift, a vital component of our mountain operations. The gearbox is the lift’s transmission that connects the motor to the drive bullwheel and is crucial for the lift’s operation. Unfortunately, we are unable to source a compatible replacement in time to salvage this season.

Due to these unforeseen circumstances, we regret to announce the closure of Hesperus Ski Area for the 2023-2024 season. We understand the disappointment this brings, especially to our loyal passholders who have supported Hesperus year after year. However, we are committed to ensuring the best possible options in light of this difficult situation.

We are thrilled to announce that all 2023/2024 Power Pass and Power Pass Select holders are welcome to ski 7 days at Valle Nevado Ski Resort this 2023 season, no blackout dates! Their scheduled opening date is June 23rd and their season is likely to run well into September (conditions permitting).

Already have your 2023/2024 Power Pass or Power Pass Select?
Great! Your pass has automatically been updated to include this benefit. No action is required on your part except to start planning your trip to South America this summer!

Already got your 2023/2024 pass but it's not a Power Pass or Power Pass Select?
Not a problem! If you'd like to take advantage of this benefit, you can call the ticket office at 970-385-2199 to upgrade your pass for the same price you would have paid when you purchased the pass you currently have.
