This weekend I got to spend time in one of my favorite places in the world—Hershey, PA… but more specifically, Milton Hershey School 🤎

This place holds such a special part of my story. It gave me opportunities and experiences that truly shaped who I am today. It’s where I built lifelong friendships, received an education that opened doors to college, and grew into the person I’ve become.

As someone who works in the social services field, I’ve often thought about the fact that, based on everything I went through in life, I shouldn’t be where I am today. But because of God, my family, and Milton Hershey School, I am in a place that I believe is much better than if I had never attended.

I have thought about the selfless act of Milton S. Hershey and Catherine Sweeney Hershey in starting this school. They gave me—and thousands of other students—the opportunity for a second chance at life and opened our world to possibilities that would have not been possible otherwise.

Some places don’t just hold memories… they help create your future. 💫

My husband and I are so excited to officially share that we’ve started a business selling Colombian coffee. It’s called Colombian Coffee Roots. We’ve worked on this for over a year to bring it to life, and it means so much to finally share it with you.

We import our products directly from Colombia, working to bring authentic, high-quality Colombian goods to our community. One of the brands we’re proud to carry is one of our personal favorites—Café Bemoka. It’s smooth, rich, and full of the flavor that made us fall in love with Colombian coffee in the first place. When I look at this farm and think of the morning of 9/11/2001, I imagine their day began like any other. They didn’t know, as they fed the animals or sipped their coffee, that within hours everything would change. The view of this quiet field would be forever marked by a crater left from a plane—a scar on the land and in our hearts that reminds us of that day. We will never forget.

This morning’s walk was covered in thick fog, and I could only see a few steps ahead. Isn’t life the same? God doesn’t let us see the whole future—if we did, fear might stop us from moving forward. Instead, He calls us to trust Him step by step. Just like the fog lifts with the sun, He makes the way clear in His perfect timing. “For we walk by faith, not by sight.” (2 Corinthians 5:7)
