The 2nd annual YMCA of Memphis & the Mid-South Dancing With The Stars - Memphis was phenomenal! The YMCA Philanthropy team really raised the barre with this event.

I am so honored to have been able to choreograph a super fun “Cuban Pete” routine for Linda McNeil and John Stamps. They brought my vision to life in the most spectacular way! I couldn’t be more proud of them.

We worked diligently, practicing twice a week at the Collierville YMCA. I spent weeks editing music and gluing over 6,000 rhinestones on these gorgeous costumes. My dancers stepped way outside of their comfort zone. But it was all for such a wonderful cause. The YMCA does much more than offer a gym and swim. They are tending to our children, offering programs that are beneficial for life. And I cannot wait to be part of it again next year!

Be bright.

Being "bright" can mean radiating positivity, boosting your intelligence, or simply bringing light to everyday life.

We are looking at a pretty cloudy week, with less sunshine than expected for the second week of June. This would be a great week to pull out our summer colors, to bring in fresh cut flowers, and maybe do a little declutter, freeing up space.  This is also a great time for an evening walk in between the showers, taking time to see where the rain has collected on flower petals, birdbaths, and maybe even jumping in a puddle or two!  We can open the blinds or sit on the porch to watch the rain and find the rays of sunshine as they peek through the clouds. 

These quick and easy mood boosters help fill our cup. From here we can more readily bring positivity to our circle and community. Sending a card to a friend would certainly brighten their day. Leaving an affirmation on a napkin for your server with no doubt be a bright spot in their shift.

This rainy week brings opportunity to sit. Bright ideas often come in the stillness. Writing them down and spending time reading and researching to support these ideas will build a brighter mind.  We can grow in wisdom as we seek out others who can join in the discussion of these ideas. Yet more community! 

Speaking of bright community, join us for classes this week! The schedule looks a little different as we move into our summer camp season. Don’t miss our special Friday evening Yoga For Healing class. We will not have Thursday evening classes, but will catch you on the square for live music, weather permitting.
