Big news to share with this group.
I heard from Bill Whitcomb yesterday that the transfer of ownership of Hermon Mountain officially happened on May 1st. The process took longer than any of us would have liked, but these things involve a lot of moving parts and a lot of people who need to sign off — and now it’s done.
After more than forty years, the Whitcomb family is stepping away as owners of this mountain. That’s worth pausing on for a moment. What they built here is something truly special — a mountain with a real heart, one that this community has always felt connected to. For those of us who have patrolled here, we know how much of that spirit we’ve all had a hand in. It’s been an honor.
I’m genuinely happy for Bill and the entire Whitcomb family as they move into this next chapter, and I’m excited about what lies ahead for Hermon Mountain.
So — I’d like to introduce the new ownership team:
Tim McLary, David Hart, Heidi Guerrette, and Hayden Jenkins.
I’m looking forward to working with them and helping make their vision for this mountain a reality. More will unfold in the months ahead, but I wanted this group to hear it directly.
Here’s to the next chapter. 🏔️
