To be clear about the work nights, the GCBRA board works 2 to 3 hours before each race and after, staying till the end each night. We are volunteers and have jobs in the morning. We are only asking members to work 1 hour total so we don’t have to run up and down the stairs to set barrels. This is your club, which requires help. We have members that come 2 hours away who are more than willing to step up, so yes, if they are working early, that’s great. When members sign up on certain days and are no-shows, they take a spot from someone who would work; this almost happened at the last race. And then, when we question them, they say they were there since they signed in, which is why we have you do it the day you are there. Hope this helps explain the work schedule. Thank you.
