The 2026 Hereford Basketball Camp has concluded, and another year has proven to be incredibly fulfilling. Witnessing young athletes dedicate themselves to the sport and showcase their passion for basketball and love for the game is truly rewarding. Gratitude is extended to the Hereford coaches, parents, varsity team, and the campers for their contributions.

Participated in the Wayland Baptist basketball team camp over the weekend and initially, on Friday and Saturday, we were regaining our basketball momentum. Sunday featured a tournament, during which we defeated Brownfield and the number one ranked team, Tascosa. Unfortunately, we lost to Wall, a state tournament team from last year. The weekend was filled with growth and some exceptional basketball. It’s only June and I’m already getting excited for the upcoming season.

When people look back at this season, they’re going to see numbers. Wins. Losses. Stats. A record that doesn’t look the way we wanted it to look. But what they won’t see, what doesn’t show up on a scoreboard is who you became. People don’t see the early mornings when nobody feels like getting out of bed.
They won’t see the extra sprints, when practice should’ve already been over.
They won’t see the way you kept showing up for each other after tough losses.
And that’s what WE are proud of as a coaching staff and HERD Basketball program.
Some of you improved in ways nobody outside this gym will ever understand. Some of you stepped into roles you weren’t comfortable with. Some of you kept your head up when it would’ve been easy to drop it.
Remember your core values, you will need them because the world will test you all the time.
We are proud of you guys and what the future holds for each of you.

Thanks for all the good memories like the long bus trips, finding a way to get to the Championship at Graham tournament for the 5th year in a row, hanging out at the hotels and talking about our four H’s, and especially our talks about our core values that we are building in each of us
