It's been a while since we've done a group picture post, and this one felt like the right time.

Over the last few weeks, we've had multiple kids and adults earn new stripes and new belts. Those promotions represent a lot more than a piece of tape or a different color around the waist. They represent time on the mats, hard rounds, frustrating days, breakthroughs, consistency, and choosing to keep showing up.

Seeing both of these classes together is a pretty good reminder of what we're building.

Some are just getting started. Some have been here for years. Some are competitors, some are here to learn, and some will eventually become the people teaching the next group coming through the door.
We're proud of every promotion, but even more proud of the people earning them.

Sometimes coaching means teaching techniques. Sometimes it means running a room full of kids. And sometimes it means jumping on the mat in your jeans just to sit beside somebody who needs you for a minute.

We talk a lot about building good jiu-jitsu players, but that has never been the whole job.

The product is the people.

A huge thank you to our friends at JT Farms.

JT Farms was one of the very first businesses to believe in and support Wrecking Crew when we were still getting started.

We didn’t go looking for sponsors this year, but they have continued to quietly find ways to help our students anyway, from buying gis for kids who need a little help getting on the mats and helping cover tournament fees so our athletes have the opportunity to compete.

Most recently, JT Farms sponsored one of our kids so they could compete at the New Breed tournament.

That kind of support means a lot to us because it goes directly to the people who matter most, our students.

Thank you, JT Farms, for continuing to believe in what we’re building and for helping us give more kids the opportunity to train, compete, and be part of this team.

SECOND PLACE YOUTH TEAM! 🥈

Huge congratulations to the Wrecking Crew kids team for bringing home 2nd Place Youth Team at Newbreed Lubbock!

Every medal, every match, every point toward that team trophy came from these kids stepping onto the mat and competing for each other.

But what makes us proud goes way beyond the podium. We watched them fight through tough positions, listen to their coaches, support their teammates, celebrate each other’s wins, and handle the hard moments the right way.

This is what a team looks like.

To our kids: you earned this. Be proud of yourselves and proud of the teammates standing beside you.

To the parents: thank you for the practices, the travel, the early mornings, and everything you do to give these kids the opportunity to compete.

Good Jiu Jitsu gets even better when you share it.

Huge thank you to our friends from Silverback Jiu Jitsu in Clovis for making the trip over and spending some time on the mats with us today.

Professor rudyjitsu2.0 shared some excellent wrestling for Jiu Jitsu, and then we got to put it to work together.

Different academies. Different rooms. Same love for Jiu Jitsu.

We’re grateful for friendships like this, the kind where we can train together, learn from each other, and make everybody’s Jiu Jitsu better.

Silverback, our mats are always open to you guys. Thank you for coming to Hereford. 🤙
