Labor Day Open Roll at Synthesis BJJ!

We’re opening up the mats this Labor Day for two hours of open rolling.

Monday, September 7
10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Synthesis BJJ

All levels are welcome, Gi or No-Gi. Come get some rounds in, train with people you might not normally get to roll with, and feel free to bring a friend.

Please note: All regularly scheduled classes are cancelled for Labor Day. The Open Roll will be the only scheduled training that day.

Fight week. Jon Piersma makes his PFL debut this Friday, July 31st at UBS Arena against Omar El Dafrawy.

Jon has put in serious work on the mats here at Synthesis, and the whole gym will be watching him step into the cage.

How to watch: PFL New York airs on ESPN and ESPN+.

Rochester and the whole gym are behind you, Jon. Go get it.

July 4th Open Mat 🥋

We hope everyone had a great time celebrating our 250th birthday, and a big thanks to everyone who showed up 🇺🇸🎆🇺🇸

It was awesome seeing the local jiu-jitsu community share the mat with such incredible energy. Huge thanks to all the cross-training visitors for bringing great rounds and great vibes.

This July 4th, we are celebrating America’s 250th Semiquincentennial on the mats!

We are canceling our regular schedule for Independence Day and opening up the floor for a massive Holiday Open Roll.

📅 Date: Saturday, July 4th, 2026

⏰ Time: 10:00 AM

🥋 Format: Open Roll (No formal classes)

Whether you want to burn off the barbecue before it even starts, put in some tough rounds, or just celebrate 250 years of this great country with your training partners, show up ready to work.

All affiliation and gyms are welcome. See you on the mats at 10 AM!
