We want to make you aware of a facility issue temporarily impacting areas of the Tuckahoe Family YMCA. Over the weekend, electrical equipment serving our aquatics and youth program spaces malfunctioned and must be replaced before power can be safely restored.

To support camp programming, morning Child Watch will be unavailable Tuesday-Friday. Group Exercise classes and adult gymnasium hours may also be affected. For the latest updates, cancellations, or program location changes, please view the Schedule.

Repairs are scheduled for Tuesday-Friday next week. Please see affected areas below. Thank you for your patience, flexibility, and understanding as we work through this unexpected situation.

UPDATE: 10:30am

Power has been restored and the branch is now open.

Child Watch will remain closed this morning and will reopen this evening.

There will be no Group Exercise classes for the remainder of the morning. Our evening classes will run as scheduled.

Our Parkinson's class will still run as scheduled today.

Our pools are still closed as that is due to a separate electrical issue.

6:45am We are currently without power this morning and the branch is closed. We will update everyone once it is restored and we are able to reopen.

Tuckahoe Day,Sports and Specialty camps will will operate on a normal schedule.

Our pool and sauna will remain closed tomorrow (6/18/26).

UPDATE (6/16/26):

We’re still waiting on parts to fix the electrical issue. Unfortunately, the pool will remain closed on Wednesday (6/17). We’ll share another update tomorrow afternoon with an estimated reopening timeline.

Sunday (6/14/26)
Due to a major electrical issue with the control panel that operates our HVAC units for the pools, both pools and the sauna will be closed on Monday(6/15) and Tuesday(6/16).

Our vendors are currently working to locate the necessary parts, and we expect to have an update by tomorrow afternoon.

All other areas of the YMCA will operate on a normal schedule.

As a member of YMCA of Greater Richmond, you are able to use any facility to fulfill your swimming and family swim needs. For the most up-to-date pool schedule (lap swim and open swim availability), please check online or the YMCA app.

We will share more information as soon as it becomes available.
