Our Story
For those that are serious about self defense… Welcome to our page. Our inspiration and name comes from none other than World War II veteran and martial arts legend the late Joe Rossi. GM Joe Rossi taught and had an appreciation for martial arts and hand to hand combat. His system of Filipino KunTao was and is devastating. I met Mr. Rossi in the early 80's and he had some killer technique/self defense. If he grabbed you----you knew it! Great memories and techniques. Interested in his art there are several Connecticut schools and a school in Grass Valley Ca and in Porterville CA. Here we teach Filipino KunTao instruction(GM Joe Rossi’s way), JKD Concepts/Grappling under the late great Larry Hartsell (Referred to as the Hartsell method), and a Kali/mixed Silat combat blend of Lacosta Kali, and Inosanto Blend. We are also involved and recognized as a training group for the Pekiti Tirsia Tactical Association yet another Kali system -see our annual conference in January each year. Our goal overall is to provide the best adaptable self defense plan thru teaching a variety of different arts.....more importantly can we adapt and use them functionally in the real world. If we can accomplish those goals and have fun regularly we can keep up the momentum. Train the mind. Train the body.
