Fantastic practice tonight! Very proud of everyone’s efforts. I think some of our runners maybe are starting to realize that they have more in them than they knew!

First meet is in the books! Girls placed 4th, boys 8th. Congrats to our medal winners, RUTH LAWSON and JORDAN GISH for their 2nd and 5th place finishes in the field of 100 MS girls! Our boys team, which is predominantly 6th grade and under competing against 7th & 8th graders - had a nice grouping but just need to move a little further up in the pack TOGETHER. Our girls gotta close the gap with our top 2. We have our starting point - time to get to work! This is a very talented group and I can’t wait to see how they improve over the season!

UPDATE - PRACTICE CANCELLED TONIGHT!
Due to the continued extreme heat - & knowing many have a busy few days, preparing for the start of school - we're going to cancel practice for tonight.
Tomorrow will still be hot but is supposed to be quite a bit milder - so we'll meet tomorrow night as planned. Enjoy your unexpected break! 🙂

TONIGHT! FOX on the RUN 5K downtown! ...AND we get to CELEBRATE these 18 amazing athletes from last season that earned 2025 ALL AREA honors for Area 1 (which consists of all the middle schools in 18 counties)!! Because these honors aren't announced until season is over, we have not been able to formally recognize these talented runners - so we are going to take a few minutes tonight to acknowledge their significant accomplishments before most of these - and several other SMS runners - hit the pavement for a pre-season 5K!
Then we'll have MORE to celebrate!
