It’s been a loooong winter y’all!!! BUT!! The kid got me in the water today! And before you ask, yes I was whining about the cold temps since it was overcast and drizzling this morning! However, it turned out to be a GREAT day (even though I did kinda wander off following a fishie and had to go back and find my dive buddies - just remember, not all who wander are lost…)!! A wonderful friend of mine came in from NY and wanted to try a discovery class so Ethan (aka Fish Boy Princess) and Triangle Dive Shop made it happen for him!! Kevin, I’m super glad we could make this happen and I know we’ll be seeing more of you!!!

It’s been a LOOOOONG winter but the sun is finally out and the temps are rising!!!!

Our boy, Ethan is doing what he does best and getting some extra training/certification in!! He will be certified in WRECK (not rec 🤣) Diving!

Ethan is now a certified PADI and SDI instructor! He is currently working under Triangle Dive Shop (Brian and Amy Mullins) in Durham, NC for all your certification needs but he’s still diving with his company Simple Pleasure Dive Company to find and retrieve items you have lost to the lake! And still doing his thing with Cape Fear Explorers! Heck! You might even catch a glimpse of him at Fort Fisher in Carolina Beach teaching classes or playing with the fishies!! 🐠

Ethan and I will headed to do some fun diving in the next few weeks so hopefully we’ll have some footage for you! Until then, if you’re looking for anything lost to waters below or are interested in learning to scuba dive, give us call!! I know a guy!! 🤿🧜‍♂️

For our adventure today we were tasked with finding a chair in Lake Gaston that had been lost since the beginning of the year! The conditions were great and visibility was unusually good! As usual, Ethan found little fish to try to make friends with! The plants and area you see at the beginning are perfect breeding grounds for fish eggs. He and I are still a tad bit baffled as to how it ended up where it did because logically, it shouldn’t have ended up that far away AND sitting up! However, the homeowners were thrilled with the bounty we found for them and we were thrilled to give Mr & Mrs Duff back an even number of chairs!!

Story time y’all!! Gather ‘round!! So about a month ago we went out to find a medallion for a lady in her pond. It was designed by her children and was very sentimental to her…the day was cool, our metal detector was not cooperating, she later said she could have lost it while playing disc golf because she didn’t notice it until way later in the day and the water was murky! Needless to say, we were unsuccessful! She did ask us to come back and do a visual dock inspection for her because she also need some repairs done to the dock (yeah, we do that too)…

We went back today to do the inspection and because SPDC’s divers are not quitters, we took another metal detector and decided to give it one more sweep! Now remember, we’re coming off of a loss this morning…WE FOUND THE MEDALLION!!!! To say Miss Jenny was happy would be an understatement!! She had internally accepted the fact she’ll never see her medallion again and had just stayed in the house while we did the dock inspection…she came running out when she heard us squealing with joy!!

Jack Ho**er and Ethan Albright went above and beyond today and reunited an owner with her lost possession she thought she’d never see again!! We don’t always get the win but when we do, it’s huge!!!! Great job boys, even though you’re in my last nerve from being in a vehicle with you all day!!
