When you’re learning a new spin, you have to recall all you’ve mastered in the more basic spins. Spinning challenges your vestibular system (i.e., inner ear, getting dizzy).
Centering a spin challenges your biomechanics to solve the physics positioning of edge, force, and a position perfectly aligned to the spinning.
Then you integrate change of position to maintain what you can achieve with basic upright spins. In this case, the layback spin.
My daughter, Desiree, loves her side layback. Although we’re not there yet, she’s getting close… and she is so determined!
