Since 1989, Professional Angler Stephen Johnston has been taking folks out on Sam Rayburn and Toledo Bend for some of the best action and entertainment that these two legendary East Texas lakes have to offer. World class fishing awaits you on these two world famous lakes. No matter what your preference; bass or crappie it's here! Johnston’s Guide Service is located on the Southern end of T-Bend, just a short drive from Big Sam, making a dual fishing trip the vacation of a lifetime. Bring the family, kids are welcome! Bring clients or the boss for corporate entertainment. Tournament pre-fishing for amateur and professional anglers is also offered. Stephen has been professionally fishing and hunting for over 30 years as a full time guide and tournament angler. Let him put you on some fish for fun and excitement or just plain relaxation. Our extra guides include a group of select anglers, all TPWD licensed, professional, and very knowledgeable about the lakes. Full or half day, and night time trips, and lodging available. Located on the South End/Texas Side of Toledo Bend
Reservoir, Johnston's Guide Service books trips from a home office and works with a number of marinas for lodging accommodations and launch facilities. Clients are met at a chosen launch site based on their individual fishing trip plans, lodging location, weather conditions, etc. Frequently used sites on Toledo Bend include: Six Mile Public Boat Ramp, Fin & Feather Resort, Paradise Point Park, and Cypress Bend Park. Frequently used sites on Sam Rayburn include: Twin Dikes Public Boat Ramp, Jackson Hill, Mill Creek, and Harvey boat ramps. BOOKING A TRIP & POLICIES -
Current Guide Fees for bass and crappie fishing trips are as follows:
$500/full day (bass boat, two anglers)
$400/half day (bass boat, two anglers)
$500/half day (bay boat, three anglers; crappie trips on brushpiles)
$50 additional angler in boat (limits apply)
Trips include fishing for two anglers in our Vexus boat and all equipment/tackle/etc. You'll need to bring personal items such as drinks/snacks/sunscreen/rain suit/etc. Average duration of trips is 9 hours for a full day, 5 hours for a half day but we don't "watch the clock". Rates are subject to change, please confirm at time of booking. Preferred payment is by cash or check with a $100 deposit due at time of booking and the balance on day of trip. It's best to schedule your trip in advance as we stay booked up, especially if you want to come during the peak season for bass (February through May, and September, October) and crappie (April through May in the grass, and June through September on the brush). It's even more important if you want a weekend; those go fast! Groups are welcome! We have a number of additional guides that we regularly work with and will schedule your trip first with Stephen, when available, and then with our other licensed, qualified, and experienced guides. Deposits are required to confirm a booking and are non refundable. Cancellations with advance notice will be accommodated when possible with re-booking. Last minute cancellations (within two weeks) will incur the full guide fee. Cancellations due to weather will be called by the guide and for safety reasons only. This is an outdoor sport and you will face typical weather conditions including rain, wind, heat, cold, etc. Every effort will be made to keep you comfortable during your trip, but mother nature will come along for the ride.
