This Thursday, January 22nd, Saginaw Valley State University will be hosting Lake Superior State University in women's basketball at 5:30 p.m. The game will feature two former Hemlock girls' basketball players as Chloe Watson (Class of 2023) is a member of the LSSU women's basketball team, and Lauren Borsenik (Class of 2024) is a member of the SVSU women's basketball team.

We'd love to see Hemlock show up to support our former Huskies, so we've been able to secure a group discount rate on tickets for the games. Below is a link to purchase tickets for the game. The annual Hemlock Basketball Golf Outing is coming up on Saturday, August 9th, at Valley View Farm Golf Course! We currently have 31 teams signed up, and we only have room for 36 teams, so there are 5 openings available for teams before the waitlist kicks in. If you're interested in golfing and haven't registered yet, you're encouraged to do so as soon as possible as the field will probably be full soon.

The Hemlock S.K.I.L.L.S. Basketball Camp is coming up next week, and there is still time to register! The camp is run by Coach Bauer and Coach Neumeyer as well as current and former players from the Hemlock boys' and girls' basketball programs. The camp is open to boys and girls ages 7-15 and runs Monday-Thursday from 10:00-3:00. This year's camp will take place at the middle school and elementary school with check-in taking place at the middle school on Monday beginning at 9:30.

Congratulations to Hemlock girls' basketball alum, Regan Finkbeiner, who was named to the NAIA National Gold Glove Team! For the second year in a row, Regan was recognized as the top defensive left fielder in the nation. Great job, Regan! We're proud of you!

Congratulations to Hemlock girls' basketball alum, Regan Finkbeiner, who had another outstanding season as a sophomore on Madonna University's softball team! Regan helped lead her team to another regular season conference championship, and, for the second year in a row, was named first team all-conference while also being named to the all-defensive team and academic all-conference team. Regan and her team are now preparing for the NAIA national championship tournament, which begins next week. Great job, Regan, and good luck at the national tournament!

The 24th Annual Hemlock Basketball Golf Outing will take place on August 9th at Valley View Farm Golf Course. This annual event helps to raise money for both the boys' and girls' basketball programs at Hemlock High School. For the past several years, the golf outing has been a sellout, and we've had to have a waiting list, so be sure to register early! The final post-season awards were announced this past weekend, and we'd like to recognize Victoria Hauffe for once again being named to an all-state team. Vice as named to the Detroit Free Press's Third Team All-State Team for this past season. Congratulations, Vic!

Congratulations to Victoria Hauffe who was named a Division 3 all-state honorable mention selection by the Basketball Coaches Association of Michigan (BCAM).

She was also named an Individual Academic All-State Award recipient by the Basketball Coaches of Michigan (BCAM). In order to receive the award, an individual must be a junior or senior, carry at least a 3.5 GPA, and be named to at least one of the all-state teams (BCAM, AP, Detroit News, or Detroit Free Press). Great job, Vic!

Congratulations to Hemlock alumni Lauren Borsenik who was recognized as a Midwest All-Regional honorable mention selection by the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA). Lauren just completed her freshman season at Concordia University in Ann Arbor where she finished second on the team in scoring and rebounding and was named to the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) First Team and All-Freshmen Team. Great job, Lola!
