Wild West Bass Trail

I would like to take this opportunity to inform everyone about the current situation regarding the Wild West Bass Trail.

First and foremost, I want to disclose that the Wild West Bass Trail is for sale and I am optimistic about the progress made thus far in the sale process and anticipate a timely resolution.

Secondly, I want to assure you that it is my intention to compensate every angler who is owed money once the sale of the Wild West Bass Trail is successfully completed.

I sincerely apologize for the burden and additional stress this situation has imposed on you, your families, and the entire industry. I am fully committed to ensuring that every angler is fully paid and made whole.

Although my own efforts fell short, I hope that the new ownership will carry forward the foundation established by the Wild West Bass Trail and continue to promote competitive bass fishing in our region. I will provide further updates as they become available in the near future.

Wild West Bass Trail
Update for the Diamond Valley Team Open scheduled for June 24, 2023.

Due to the current process and transition of WWBT. We, along with our partners have made arrangements to reschedule this event.

WWBT will provide an update to the date and time when the new ownership takes place. More Information to follow when time permits.

All registered teams will receive full refunds back to the card used to register.

CHECK IN: at buoy line with a check-in boat 1st flight in at 11:30AM.

WEIGH IN: Fleming Anglers to pull boat out and park in parking lot of Fleming. The trailer should be parked by the restaurant (they are closed).

OFF LIMITS:
- 50 Feet from any gas dock

- No slips inside host marina (Fleming)

- No casting over buoy line at the Dam

- No fishing within 50 yards of the take-off ramp

REMINDER: Moccasin has NO ACCESS to the main lake if you are going to practice launch from Fleming. There is also a bouy line. That area is OFF- LIMITS.

Meet Damian Thao, Silver Medalist at the 2023 FIPSed II Kayak Fishing World Championship.

Some of Damian's earliest memories are fishing for panfish with the Thao family in California's Central Valley, where he grew up. His desire to compete in tournaments was kindled at an early age. In 2016, a close friend introduced him to kayak fishing. Soon, other friends urged him to try his hand at kayak tournament tournaments. Right out of the gate, Damian placed fourth. By the end of that year he'd won his first kayak bass fishing tournament.

Since his first taste of kayak fishing competition, Damian has amassed an impressive record that includes at least 15 first place finishes. He's been runner-up 16 times and placed third ten times. Add to that another 31 (or more) top-ten finishes, and you'll realize why he's considered a contender whenever other kayak anglers see his name on the registration list.

In 2020 Damian earned three AOY (Angler of the Year) titles with Yak-A-Bass, Wild West Bass Trail and Kayak Bass Fishing West Region. He repeated as Yak-A-Bass' Angler of the Year in 2022.

Among his recent accolades are 2021 Wild West Bass Trail Kayak Champion, 2022 Hobie Iron Man Champion, 2022 Yak-a-Bass TOC Champion and this year he was Runner-up at the Bassmaster Kayak National Championship. Damian's credentials as a top-tier angler, not only in Western U.S. circuits but nationwide, earned him a slot on the 2023 USA Kayak Fishing Team.

Damian and friends made a fishing road trip to Cookeville for the Kayak Fishing World Championship. He arrived in Tennessee without a kayak. Music City Outdoors TN in Nashville stepped up, providing him with the Hobie Mirage Pro Angler 14 with MirageDrive 180 that he used in practice and competition on Center Hill Lake. Thanks, MCO!
