June is Alzheimer’s & Brain Awareness Month, and this cause is deeply personal to me.
Like so many families, mine has been profoundly impacted by dementia. My mom lives with vascular dementia, and watching someone you love slowly lose pieces of themselves changes you forever. It has also given me a mission.
As a Certified Brain Health Trainer, I’ve dedicated my work to helping people take proactive steps to protect their brain health through movement, exercise, cognitive challenges, and healthy lifestyle habits. While we can’t guarantee prevention, research continues to show that many of our daily choices can support a healthier brain and may help reduce the risk of cognitive decline.
That’s why I’m so excited to share that this August, Fireweed Human Performance will open its new private brain health studio in Helena.
This studio isn’t just another gym. It’s a place where adults—especially those in midlife and beyond—can improve strength, balance, mobility, and confidence while also challenging the brain through my Fireweed BrainBody Method®. I’ll continue offering one-on-one personal training while expanding BrainBody classes, educational events, book discussions, and other programs focused on healthy aging and brain wellness.
If Alzheimer’s or another form of dementia has touched your family, know that you’re not alone. Every conversation, every walk, every strength session, every healthy meal, and every opportunity to keep learning matters.
Here’s to honoring those we’ve loved, supporting those who are living with dementia today, and working together toward healthier brains for all.
💜 If you’d like to follow along as I build Helena’s first brain health-focused fitness studio, I’d love to have you on this journey.
