A message the Holy Spirit has been dropping in my heart lately♥️
We are a society consumed with doing and pursuing non stop. A healthy dose of action is required for forward momentum.
YET … the relentless pursuit of activity creates a bedrock of chronic anxiety and dissatisfaction - > robbing us of the peace and purpose filled living we long for.
What if instead we learned to STAND?
Almost every time I ask Him, “What do YOU want me to focus on? “, the same word comes through loud and clear:
STAND.
The Lord keeps inviting me yet again, not to DO more,
but to STAND.
Stand in faith.
Stand in prayer.
Stand in worship.
Stand in gratitude.
Stand in the GAP.
The gap between the present and the future. The gap between today’s pain and tomorrow’s promises. The gap for those who are weary and don’t have the capacity or strength to run right now.
Stand in anticipation of what He’s doing, rather than what I am doing.
Stand firmly and Trust the plans He has for me, rather than trying to advance my own agenda.
Stand in agreement with what the Word of God declares over my marriage, family, business and future.
Stand united with my husband mentally, physically, spiritually — moving as ONE unified force.
Stand for eternal things rather than fleeting things of this world.
It’s been a journey the past 7 years breaking free from performance addiction.
That doesn’t mean temptations don’t try to creep back in: anxious thoughts, comparison, past failures, the temptation to live
too far in the future.
But the reminder is always the same: come back to the PRESENT.
Be still. Trust. Press in.
STAND.
Knowing that God is already doing more in me, through me and around me than I could ever imagine.
“Therefore, put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything—to stand.” (Ephesians 6:13 AMP)
Are you still exhausting yourself daily -> striving, stressing, and endlessly doing…
When perhaps what God is inviting you into this season is simply to STAND?
