Great Father's Day message from our friend Coach Mark out in Sharptown ⚽

Happy Fathers Day to an All-Star Dad.

When I was younger, it seemed like my father was always working. He alternated between working long shifts and overnight hours. He did what he had to do, so that our family could have a normal life. Looking back, I don't remember the score of any soccer game I've ever played in but I remember my father was always there. He could be exhausted and still in his work uniform, but he was there.

Last year, Sharptown had 14 soccer teams in 9 separate divisions. Across two complete seasons of soccer, we played over 150 games against teams from all over the county. At our peak, we've had over 200 registered players and Sharptown now has one of the only lighted soccer fields in Wicomico County. All of this exists because one hard working father, decided to prioritize watching his son play soccer- and that son grew up and decided to do whatever he could to give as many people as possible the same opportunity.

Futsal/Indoor Soccer Tonight at the West Side Community Center, hosted by West Side Neighborhood Alliance 6:00 - 8:00 PM

If you have kids in the west side of Wicomico County come down tonight for some soccer fun. Ages 6-12(ish) welcome.

We're looking to put together teams for a league in September but you don't have to want to play in the league to show up and have some fun. Everyone is welcome.

This is a free event, no registration necessary. We are looking for volunteers for coaches or refs. Show up tonight to learn more on how you can make a difference in the lives of local kids.

West Side Neighborhood Alliance is thrilled to bring youth sports back to the West Side Community Center! Join WSNA starting May 7th for fun-filled Thursday nights playing Indoor Soccer (with a twist).

This is a free event focused on building teamwork, character, and soccer fundamentals in a positive environment. Whether your child is a budding athlete or just looking to burn off energy and make new friends, everyone is welcome!

When: Every Thursday | 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM

Starts: May 7th

Where: West Side Community Center (Bivalve, MD)

Cost: Completely FREE!

Who: All youth up to age 12ish (No registration required—just show up!)

How it works:
Games and groupings will be organized based on the number of participants and age ranges who attend each week. We place a heavy emphasis on fun, sportsmanship, and learning the game.

Note: Older kids and teens are encouraged to join us as volunteers to help mentor our younger players! We'll have games for them from time to time as well.

Lessons learned on the field, like how to win and lose with grace and how to work as a team, last a lifetime. Come have a blast with us!
