it’s such an odd feeling knowing that the last time mom did your “elbows”, was the last time. or that the last time grandpa did his “sorcery” before i went in on the tree, was the last time. or isaac’s last “good luck i love you” and hand squeeze was the last one. i’ve raced a junior dragster since i was roughly 12 years old, this year i had the privilege of turning 18 in July meaning i had this season as an extra season almost, but my season and junior dragster racing career has unfortunately come to an end.
if i went back and talked to the nervous 12 year old girl who was just starting to race she would never believe all of the things we have accomplished. in my 6 years i won 2 track championships at pacemakers which qualified me to run at the IHRA world finals two separate times and the first year i made it to the round before quarters in the fun race and the second year i did that in the main race, i also won an NHRA national shootout for my wally, and most recently i won an ironman, I placed 2nd in points at National Trail Raceway last year and 4th the year before that, i was also apart of the Double00Sh*tShow jr mafia which was super cool, and i placed in the Drag Champ top 10 jrs at the end of the year twice.
racing is something so much more than a car to me, it is a community, a place where you find your people. i met so many people while racing, i made connections with people, i came out of my shell more, i made friends, i made memories. people in this tight knit community look out for eachother, and really care for eachother like family. isaac and i met through racing, when my car had broke he offered for me to race of his familes juniors just because that’s what people did.
racing a junior with my family and meeting so many new people was such a blessing and something that i will never forget. the person who i owe the biggest thank you to is of course, my grandpa, Johnny B-Good Singrey, for making everything possible and always being there even when it isn’t easy. thank you for always fixing everything, especially when it broke at the most inconvenient times. thank you for everything! and of course thank you to my momma, Jennifer Rodgers, for being pappy’s right hand women and always being there for me. whether i need a shoulder to cry on, or i’m mad and need someone to talk to, or just encouraging, thank you. and Isaac Rowley thank you for always showing up these past couple of years and helping wherever you can help and being so supportive and encouraging, thank you. and thank you to anyone and everyone else who was been apart of this journey.
i’d like to thank this seasons sponsors
