Our annual 3 on 3 tournament winners for 2017 were Julia Reidhead Allie Bastedo and Mckenzie Willis holding our treasured GOLD BALL! Our runner-up team was Jilliana Maner Courtney Hall and Tyra Parry! Congrats to both teams that was fun to watch😉 Had to add in some blooper pictures they were too funny😆😂

We had to cancel practice today because the majority of our girls had the amazing opportunity to participate in the MHS Choir and sing the National Anthem at the Suns game😍

These girls played their "bahooties" off at the Roundvalley Tournament! Out of 6 games we suffered only one loss and it was only by 3 to Ft. Thomas (we will not lose to them a 3rd time!) Unfortunately, that loss made it so we went straight to the consolation bracket. Then, ended up taking the consolation championship! So they got 5th out of 14 teams. But like we say, "WE DON'T LOSE, WE LEARN!" Next year we'll be on the other side of the bracket!!!

Our first game kicked off last Tuesday against the Showlow Cougars and the Varsity girls got the WIN! So proud of those girls for starting out the season with a big win! The JV girls unfortunately fell short.
Our next big game is Wednesday away in St. Johns! We're hoping for another big W! We'll be coming off of thanksgiving break so these girls will need to work hard but they can do it!

The Mustang Girls Basketball team want to thank Dr. Nicolas Porter and his family from the bottom of their hearts for buying their pig and donating all that you did! You're our hero. We can't thank you enough for the support😍 AND a huge thank you goes out to all the other bidders and supporters we had out there!

Muhammad Ali said, "Only a man who knows what it is like to be defeated can reach down to the bottom of his soul and come up with the extra ounce of power it takes to win when the match is even." This year has been an absolute blast! These girls had such an amazing season and it sadly ended after the 2nd round of state again. This time we lost to the #1 ranked Ft. Thomas but only by 10 points! We had a hard time the 1st half playing our game but then stepped it up the 2nd half. This quote from Ali fits them perfectly. To experience a painful defeat only makes us hungrier for next year! Like last year, we are a super young team consisting of mostly freshman and sophomores competing against teams that are mostly juniors and seniors. So in our book these girls killed it out there! We can't wait for our next chance at state next year but we will miss our seniors dearly!!!
