Neauman Coleman enjoyed the fishing on the Spring River recently with guide Mark Crawford, who says there are lots of hungry bass on the Spring these days, even with lower-than-average water. Streamers can be a lot of fun to throw at the bass when the bite is on, he says, and Woolly Buggers, Clouser Minnows and more are working. But this smallmouth was caught below a hopper on a pink San Juan Worm, Crawford told us.

I have good news & bad news, Arkansas…

Bad news - this heat wave is going to get worse, especially as we roll into next week.

I posted about this a couple of days ago, this is the latest. 

The heat dome we’ve been plagued with will strengthen over the region next week (see model below).

This will crank the heat up even more.

Several 100°+ days are likely from
this weekend through around the 12th.

Believe it or not, many locations have avoided 100° the last 3-4 days. 

Good news - there is some signal for relief around the 12th or 13th, give or take a few days.

The middle of the month looks better for us. 

No, it will not turn cold, but we will be closer to normal, which will feel amazing given where we’ve been.

90° might feel like an arctic blast.

I’m hopeful the next 10 days or so is the last true summer heat wave for 2026.

That doesn’t mean we won’t experience hot weather, but it won’t be 100+ for 7-10 days straight.

We are almost there guys.

💥Discount💥*** UPDATE: BOOKED***
Had someone cancel due to unforeseen circumstances and decided to not let their deposit go to waste! First person to call or text me and mention this post and book a trip for the month of September will have their deposit waived! (That isn't already in my books)

That is ultimately a $150 discount on either a half or full day guide trip. The rest will be due day of trip, including extra person charges if for a trip larger than 2 people. Won't last long, will update the post once the trip is booked! One time only! One trip only! This will go fast! 🎣

Big things happening 🙌

We are SO excited to announce...
THE TAILWATER GRILL will be opening in the upcoming weeks!

I will update everyone as we get closer to a projected date but until then we will keep everyone on their toes!

We will be the steakhouse everyone wants while also having those great country dish options and let's not forget... seafood!

I will post a menu for everyone to salivate over once it is more nailed down 🤤🤤.

We will be adding a deck around the restaurant as well so you can enjoy the beauty of the Little Red while having a wonderful outdoor dining experience!
