Now that the weather is getting warmer (already too hot for me), families are just starting to look for swimming lessons. If this is you, I have a list of questions you should ask your swim instructor before signing up!

1. What qualifies the instructor that will be teaching your little one?
2. Will your little one be able to show INDEPENDENT skills at the end of the session 3. How long will it take your little one to be able to show independent and reliable swimming/floating skills?
4. Is your instructor covered by an insurance company?

If you’d like to know, as an ISR instructor myself, I went through an intense 6-week in water training with an ISR Master Instructor. Not only did I have about 120 hours of in-water hands on training, I also had extensive studies of anatomy, physiology and child psychology in the afternoons with homework and essays at night. If you are wondering, I am fully insured to teach at any location and each year I go through rigorous, continuous education requirements!

What other swim programs can say that?

I am coming up on 2 years of teaching in Wasatch & Summit Counties. This is not a side hustle for me, it is my full time job to provide water safety and drowning prevention to kids in our communities. I LOVE what I do!

Before March has come and gone, say 👋 to my March featured family, the Battad’s!

I’ve been honored to work with the Battad family. Wren has been pretty timid in and around water before we started working together, in the meantime she turned into a little fishy!

The Battad’s are receiving 3 free maintenance lessons (single/drop in lessons). When Wren is skilled (in 2 weeks), she can just schedule her maintenance lesson (we recommend 1-2 lessons/month) and maintain the learned skills!

As an ISR instructor, I have the privilege of witnessing life-changing moments every day.

This past Monday, 10 new little faces showed up at the swimming pool not knowing what was going to happen, not knowing me, not knowing how to save their own life. Learning water safety skills is often their first step toward true independence, a milestone that extends far beyond swimming.

Today, I watched Sophie’s face light up with pure joy as she realized, “I swam to my mama!” 🤩⭐️🥰

Sophie isn’t the only one whose emotions are settling down, many other little ones today started to feel a little more comfortable. These experiences aren’t just about water safety; they’re about building trust, relationships and confidence that carries over into every aspect of their lives. Seeing them recognize their own strength while their family looked on with pride is one of the many reasons I love what I do.

Teach them early on to move their heads to find air and float.
