In tonights episode of meet the coach, we shine the spotlight on Coach Anthony Judd. While he may be new to the NC coaching world, he certainly isn’t new to the sport or the NC community. He is passionate about helping young folks learn this great sport and we are lucky to have him on board!

1) what got you into wrestling?
My son really enjoyed it.

2) what are your goals for this season?
Everyone to get better and come back next year

3) favorite athlete and why?

Dan gable…..its dan gable great athlete/ coach of all time!

4) favorite super hero and why?
Iron man. He didn’t have super powers. He made them.

5) favorite vacation spot?
Outer banks

6) favorite hobby?
Hunting.

If you have been around NC the past 20+ years you surely have seen this guy in many capacities. Whether he was running varsity football concessions or tending the bar at the men’s and women’s stags, he is always there with a helping hand with the Newark Catholic Athletic Association. Coach Niese has been involved with the NC wrestling program as the head coach for both biddy and Jr High and on the varsity staff since 2007! When he isn’t on a wrestling mat you are sure to find him on a baseball diamond all spring and summer, umping it up! Here are a few fun facts about Coach Niese:

1) Q: What got you into wrestling?
A: The head varsity coach sat with me at lunch and talked me out of basketball. The rest is history.

2) Q: What are your goals for this wrestling season?
A: To get each wrestler to accomplish more than he or she thought they were able too

3) Q: Favorite Super Hero?
A: I don’t have one, so if I have to choose….Batman

4) Q: Favorite vacation spot or hobby?
A: Anywhere I can go camping and enjoy the great outdoors
