Would you do it if you ever had a dream, the opportunity to pursue it, and the drive and determination to achieve it? "I can't imagine a person becoming a success who doesn't give this game of life everything he's got." -- Walter Cronkite. I have been a recreational player since before I knew the term "recreational player" for more than 30 years. Like most, I around the kitchen table at first, the
n with friends, a meetup game once a week, and so on. My beginnings are not much different than most men and women my age. I was watching the WSOP main event long before the Moneymaker year; that was inspiring, but life went on until the WSOP 2020 main event. "I sure wish we could play poker in Texas," I grumbled to my brother, Charles, also a poker player and fanatic like myself. You know we could go to Austin and play at The Lodge." My life was changing anyway with the coming loss of my wife, Teresa. She was battling cancer terminally for more than 13 months. She passed, and I knew what I wanted to do, play poker. Now, sometime later, here I am, well on my way to fulfilling a life-long dream to sit at the WSOP main event. I don't want to go to the WSOP to buy a T-shirt; I want to win. I play every day, I study every day, and I am constantly looking to learn from those who are better than me and beat those who are not. Join me on the journey, and you will not find a more dedicated player here on StakeKings or anywhere in the world... It's time for the poker world to get to know the other Dennis Phillips. One day, I wish to challenge the other Dennis Phillips to a Head's Up match and take back the Google search engine top spot.
