Last week, we tragically and unexpectedly lost our beautiful friend and studio member, Jill Shadek, to a brain aneurysm at just 41 years old, only weeks after welcoming her second daughter, Della, into the world.
Many of you knew Jill from The Studio over the years. Bright-eyed, quietly magnetic, funny in that dry effortless way, and deeply kind. She carried a warmth that made people feel instantly at ease and seen.
What many people may not know is that Jill also helped shape The Studio itself from the very beginning. When the space was still just studs and concrete, Jill helped design many of the details and elements that became the home our community now gathers in every day. Her creativity and eye for beauty are woven into the walls of this place and into the feeling people experience when they walk through our doors.
Jill moved through the world with authenticity and heart. She was adventurous, intuitive, wildly intelligent, and able to connect naturally with people from every walk of life. She brought lightness wherever she went, whether in conversation, on the dance floor, or simply in the way she showed up for the people she loved.
She leaves behind her husband Mike and their two beautiful daughters, Fiona and baby Della.
Our hearts are with their family and all who loved her so fiercely. We will continue to hold them in love and community in the weeks, months, and years ahead.
