🎯 Tip of the Day:
Precision Components + Precision Loading Equipment = Consistency

Premium brass, consistent primers, temperature-stable powder, and match-grade bullets manufactured to tight tolerances create the foundation for accuracy. Pair those with a high-tolerance reloading press and quality dies that produce consistent sizing, seating depth, and concentricity, and you’ve eliminated many of the variables that rob precision.
Every inconsistency has the potential to become larger groups, increase standard deviation, or vertical dispersion at long range. The goal isn’t simply to make ammunition that fires—it’s to produce ammunition that performs the same way, every single shot.

Economy of Motion

Winning a stage isn’t about moving faster—it’s about eliminating unnecessary movement.

Every extra step, rifle adjustment, or bag reposition costs time and can disrupt your natural point of aim.

Focus on these three fundamentals:

• Build and Break
Build a stable position with purpose. Once your natural point of aim is established, break the shot without unnecessary adjustments. Trust your process and move on.

• Find Stability Quickly
Use natural point of aim to your advantage. Instead of muscling the rifle onto the target, shift your body until the reticle naturally settles where you want it. Stability is faster than fighting the rifle.

• Match the Bag to the Prop
The right support bag can save valuable seconds. Select a bag that complements the prop you’re shooting from, allowing the rifle to settle naturally with minimal effort and maximum consistency.

“Smooth is efficient, and efficient is fast. Economy of motion creates consistency, and consistency wins stages.”

Challenge:
During your next practice session, watch for every unnecessary movement. Ask yourself, “Did that movement help me make the shot?” Remove one wasted motion from every position, and you’ll gain speed without sacrificing accuracy.

Tip of the Day

🌡️ Don’t Let Mirage Fool You

On a hot day, the air between you and the target is constantly changing. Those differences in temperature bend light, creating mirage—one of the biggest sources of visual error in precision shooting.

What mirage does:

* Makes targets appear to shimmer or move.
* Reduces image sharpness at high magnification.
* Can hide trace and make spotting impacts more difficult.
* Provides valuable wind information if you know how to read it.

How to manage it:

* Reduce magnification until the image becomes clear. A sharper 18× image is often more useful than a blurry 30× image.
* Focus your optic slightly to observe mirage along different parts of the bullet’s flight path.
* Use mirage as a wind indicator—its angle and speed reveal changes you may not feel at the firing position.
* Install a mirage band on your suppressor or barrel to reduce heat waves rising directly into your scope’s line of sight.

Just as a wise marksman gathers every clue the environment provides, reading mirage turns a challenge into an advantage.

Remember: Mirage isn’t just a problem—it’s one of the best wind indicators available.

Challenge: During your next range session, lower your magnification when mirage increases and compare your hit percentage. Then spend five minutes simply watching the mirage before firing a shot. It will teach you more about the wind than another magazine downrange.

Ballistic Coefficient vs. Velocity

Don’t chase velocity—chase consistency.

At long range, a high-BC bullet with a consistent load will often outperform a faster, lower-BC bullet. Higher BC means less wind drift, better retained velocity, and more predictable performance downrange.

Remember: Accuracy wins matches. Consistency wins championships. Velocity only matters if you can repeat it.

Challenge: Compare two bullets in your ballistic solver—one with a higher BC and one that’s 100 fps faster. Look at the wind drift and retained velocity at 1,000 yards. The results may surprise you.

Tip of the Day

“Build Your Position Before You Build Your Shot.”

The best rifle, ammunition, and optic can’t overcome an unstable position.

Before touching the trigger, verify:

* ✔️ Natural Point of Aim (close your eyes, relax, reopen—are you still on target?)
* ✔️ Rear support is firm and consistent.
* ✔️ Bipod or tripod is loaded only as much as needed.
* ✔️ Reticle remains motionless through your breathing cycle.
* ✔️ Trigger press is straight to the rear without disturbing the reticle.

A rushed position often costs more points than a poor wind call. Spend an extra 10 seconds building a solid foundation, and the shot becomes much easier.
