Today our young engineers learned all about water catchment systems and how they work! Participants designed and built their own homes complete with individual rainwater collection systems. After a few final tweaks on Monday, we’ll be putting them to the test to see whose design collects water most efficiently! πŸŒŽπŸ”¬πŸ‘

Hands-on learning, problem-solving, and creativity made for another awesome day at the Summer Activity Center!

β˜€οΈ What a Great Day at Summer Activity Center! β˜€οΈ

Today was packed with fun, learning, and giving back! Our participants had the opportunity to help with our monthly food distribution, and more importantly, they learned why we do what we do. Teaching our youth the value of helping others and supporting our community is just as important as any activity we offer.

A huge thank you to our young volunteers who stepped up and helped serve families today. We are proud of the compassion, teamwork, and leadership they showed!

Our monthly food distribution will take place tomorrow from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM.

⚠️ Please note: There will be no admittance into the facility. All distributions will be handled at the entrance for a quick and efficient pickup process.

πŸŒ±β˜€οΈ Summer Activity Center is Off to an Amazing Start! β˜€οΈπŸŒ±

The first two days of Summer Activity Center have been an absolute blast!

Yesterday, our campers had an exciting opportunity to learn about and explore drone technology with PSP Troop N. We have some blooming reporters taking notes to add to our annual yearbook!

Today, we switched gears and got our hands dirty as we began creating our vegetable and flower garden!

The kids worked hard planting lots of seeds and learning about what it takes to grow healthy plants. We are excited to start seeing seedlings emerge from the greenhouse that was made possible through our Amazon grant. 🌿

We also received a delivery of topsoil today from a generous HARP family member, which means tomorrow we’ll be ready to get some plants in the ground! A special thank you to Van Hoeklen Greenhouses for providing beautiful plants that will help bring our garden to life. 🌸πŸ₯•πŸ…

This garden is more than just a place to grow flowers and vegetablesβ€”it’s an outdoor classroom where our youth can learn about science, nutrition, responsibility, and the environment while having fun together.

We can’t wait to share photos and updates as our garden grows throughout the summer!

We welcomed this year’s group of kids for our Fourth Annual Summer Activity Center, and hosted the drone unit from Troop N to kick off the season! We are looking forward to eight weeks of projects, games, friendship and FUN! New kids can join at the desk tomorrow at 8:45 at a discounted week rate.

Join Christie at 5 for Indoor Spin. The facility is open until 8 for active members.

It's UNBELIEVABLE to think that it's almost time for our FOURTH Annual Summer Activity Center! Time sure does fly when you're having fun, and we cannot wait to see some familiar faces a well as many new ones this Monday.

We will have the same 9 am start time, then breakfast followed by warmup and introduction. We welcome our first guests of the season, PSP Troop N, along with their drone unit. We have so many fun activities planned for your kids this summer and we KNOW they will make memories and friends for a lifetime.

We still have available spaces for kids 6-12, and registration forms are available at the desk (600 South Poplar Street Hazleton) tomorrow, 8:30-10:30 and Saturday 8:30-10:30. Come play, learn, and GROW with us!
