❤️ DAY 7 OF 30 — THE HARP TAKEOVER! ❤️

When you think of HARP, you might picture a gym, baseball, boxing, kids running around, or people getting active.

But HARP has always been about so much more than a gym.

For the past four years, our Summer Activity Center has grown year after year—and watching that growth has been one of the most rewarding parts of what we do. We’ve created a place where kids can spend their summers being active, learning, creating, exploring, and most importantly, feeling like they belong.

But getting there wasn’t always easy.

Our building had been neglected by an absentee landlord, and we were faced with a space that needed a LOT of love before it could become the kind of environment our kids deserved.

So we did what HARP does best…

We collaborated. We rolled up our sleeves. And we got to work.

With help from incredible community partners, including the Keystone Job Corps, we transformed an area that had been neglected into something productive and meaningful—including a garden that gave our kids another opportunity to learn, grow and take pride in their surroundings. 🌱

And that is what community is supposed to look like.

One organization helping another.
People showing up.
Kids benefiting.
And an old, forgotten space becoming something full of possibility.

Now, we’re taking everything we’ve learned from four successful years of our Summer Activity Center and bringing that same spirit into our upcoming After School Activity Center.

The curriculum, the movement, the enrichment, the creativity, the hands-on learning, the sense of belonging—it’s all coming with us.

Because our goal isn’t simply to give kids somewhere to go after school.

Our goal is to give them a place to GROW. ❤️🌱

This is HARP.

It’s not just a gym.

It’s kids.
It’s families.
It’s partnerships.
It’s second chances for spaces that were forgotten.
It’s turning challenges into opportunities.

And most of all…

It’s believing that our kids deserve MORE—and then doing the work to make it happen.

Four years of growing.
Four years of learning.
Four years of showing up.

And we’re not done yet.

We’re just getting started. ❤️

Day 6 of our 30 DAY HARP TAKEOVER!

💗 HARP Is More Than You Think 💗

When you think of HARP, what comes to mind?

Maybe it’s a gym full of people working out. 🏋️‍♀️
Maybe it’s baseball. ⚾️
Maybe it’s boxing. 🥊
Maybe it’s one of our many programs and activities.

But HARP is so much more than what happens inside our gym or out on our fields.

It’s also about young people finding their place, discovering their strengths and learning what it means to give back to their community. ❤️

Through our partnership with CareerLink, we’ve had the privilege of welcoming high school students as youth workers at HARP. They get real work experience, responsibility and the opportunity to be part of our mission — and our younger kids get some pretty amazing role models in return.

Over the years, we’ve watched these young people leave HARP and go on to do some pretty incredible things. We’ve had youth workers who went on to play professional baseball, pursue higher education, build successful professional careers, and serve our country in the Armed Forces. 🇺🇸⚾️🎓

And that makes us incredibly proud.

Because maybe they came to HARP looking for a summer job or work experience…

…but they left knowing they could make a difference.

They learned to show up.
To lead.
To be responsible.
To encourage someone younger than them.
And most importantly, to become invested in the community they call home.

And our kids watched them do it.

That is the heart of HARP. 💗

It’s not just a gym.
It’s not just baseball.
It’s not just boxing.
It’s not just kids running around.

It’s people. It’s opportunity. It’s community. And it’s watching young people grow into who they were meant to become.

We may not always know where these young people will go when they leave HARP…

…but we sure are proud when we get to watch them GO. ❤️

Day 5 of our 30-DAY HARP TAKEOVER!

🎉 FUNDRAISERS!!! 🎉

Did you know it takes DOZENS of volunteers and HUNDREDS of hours to plan and pull off our fundraisers?! 😳

We have an amazing Board of Directors, but the truth is… we also need YOU!❤️

Our goal is to host 4 bingos, a golf tournament, a fun run, AND a Zumbathon all before the end of the year! That’s a whole lot of events… and a WHOLE LOT of volunteer hours! 🙌

Whether you become a sponsor, bake or cook something yummy for us, donate a prize, help set up, sell tickets, work the event, or simply lend a hand wherever needed — we appreciate YOU more than you know!

Our fundraisers help make it possible for HARP to continue providing safe, affordable, inclusive programs and opportunities for the kids and families in our community. We truly could not do what we do without the support of our volunteers and community! ❤️

DAY 4 OF OUR 30 DAY HARP TAKEOVER!

💙 FOR THE CAREGIVERS, THE FAMILIES & THE ADULTS WHO DESERVE TO KEEP MOVING.

There’s a conversation we don’t have often enough.

When you care for an adult with special needs, it can be a lifelong commitment. There may be appointments, routines, therapies, medications, transportation, advocacy, and a million little things that depend on YOU.

And somewhere along the way, it can become really easy to put your own health at the bottom of the list.

But here’s the truth:

Your health matters, too. ❤️

That’s why HARP is beginning an ALL-INCLUSIVE ADULT FITNESS PROGRAM, designed to help adults build strength, confidence, balance, endurance and independence—while creating a welcoming space where everyone belongs.

🗓️ Tuesdays at 2:00 PM

We’ll work on:
🏃‍♀️ Basic functional movements
⚖️ Balance & stability
❤️ Cardio & endurance
💪 Strength & mobility
🧠 Coordination & body awareness
…and SO much more!

This isn’t about being the fastest, strongest or most athletic person in the room.

It’s about being able to keep doing the things you love.
It’s about maintaining movement and independence.
It’s about building confidence.
And it’s about recognizing that fitness doesn’t have an expiration date.

If you are an adult with special needs, a parent, sibling, caregiver, family member, or someone who simply believes EVERYONE deserves access to movement and community—we want you here.

Because caring for someone for a lifetime shouldn’t mean sacrificing your own quality of life.

And taking care of your health isn’t selfish.

It’s part of the plan. 💙

Does your little one love baseball—or maybe they’re just getting started? 👀

HARP is excited to partner with Drifton Park Sports Complex for Coach Miranda’s Indoor T-Ball Skills Academy!

This 6-week Wednesday program is designed specifically for young players ages 3–7, with small-group instruction focused on building confidence and learning the fundamentals in a fun, supportive environment.

⭐ Fundamentals & skill development

NO team commitment.

Today, we’re shining a spotlight on one of our favorite things at HARP: KIDS! ❤️

This summer, our Activity Center was full of kids being exactly who they are — moving, playing, laughing, learning, making friends, trying new things, and having a place where they BELONG. 🫶

From kids who are naturally athletic to kids who need a little extra encouragement… from the high-energy crew to those who take a little more time to warm up… HARP makes room for EVERYBODY.

And guess what? 👀
We’re bringing even more of that energy into our upcoming After School Activity Center!

We’re talking movement, play, fitness, functional training, confidence-building, and FUN. 💪🔥

Because kids were meant to MOVE.
Run. Jump. Climb. Carry. Balance. Throw. Laugh. Play.

Not spend every afternoon sitting still. 😉

Our goal? Help kids reconnect with the movement they were made for — in a way that feels like fun, not a workout.

If you missed 5 PM, here’s your second chance!

7 PM Zumba is $7 and is NOT included with HARP membership.
