This coming Fri, Sept 11th, 2026, there will be a 9-11 remembrance ceremony at the Jeff Davis High School Football Stadium, starting are 10am. Please come join the JDCVA and the Hazlehurst Fire Dept and many others for this remembrance event.

Memorial is (5-25-26) tomorrow!
The JDCVA will be having a Memorial Day Ceremony starting at 10am tomorrow morning.
Come a little early to get you a good spot.
At 8am tomorrow the Veterans will meet at the Veterans Square Park to setup the tents and all the seats for tomorrow's ceremony. Anyone that is not a veteran and is available to help us will be welcome and greatly appreciated.
Remember: Memorial Day is to honor and remember those which lost their lives in military combat.
Please share this and everyone attend the ceremony starting at 10am.

Attention EVERYONE!:

Next week Mon. (May 25th, 2026) at 10am, the JDCVA will have a Memorial Day Ceremony to honor all military service members which paid the ultimate price and gave their lives in military combat.
That is the purpose of Memorial Day, to honor all military service members which paid the ultimate price in military combat for the safety and freedom of the U.S. citizens.
The ceremony will be at the Veterans Square Park on Tallahassee St next to the Jeff Davis County Courthouse on and it starts at 10am.

We will have tents and seats setup for people to sit. But, everyone is welcome to take their personal chair if they wish. And, you may want to take an umbrella for some shade from the hot sun.
We hope you will join us for the Memorial Day Ceremony!

Reminder to ALL!
Memorial Day is a day to honor all the U.S. military service members which paid the ultimate sacrifice (their lives) in combat.
It is not the day to thank all veterans for their service. That is what Veterans Day is for.
Now, you can thank a veteran for his/her service at anytime, but it is proper to withhold that on Memorial Day.
So, I ask that on Memorial Day, instead of thanking a living veteran, please think of all those service members which paid the ultimate sacrifice.

To ALL veterans and anyone else who is able to assist us:
This coming Mon. morning (May 18th, 2026), starting at 8am the JDCVA will be putting out all the white Memorial Crosses at the 4 Hwy sites and all the U.S. flags throughout town for Memorial Day.
We will meet up behind the old Wilson Hardware store bldg.
We will need all the help we can get. The more help we have, the faster we can finish the work.
So, ALL veterans and non-veterans are welcome to join us Mon. morning at 8am.
And, don't forget to join us Mon. (May 25th, 2026) at 10am on Memorial Day for our Memorial Day Ceremony.
The ceremony starts at 10am, so come a little early.

Veterans!
Tomorrow, April 28th, 2026, we will be our monthly meeting for JDCVA.
1st on the schedule:
- at 17:00 (5pm) we will have a small ceremony at the City/Jeff Davis Co. Library
- this is to present the scholarship awards to the scholarship recipients.
- there will be refreshments provided
- All veterans are asked to wear your JDCVA vest.
- You do not have to wear the dress outfit, unless you prefer to.

2nd on the schedule:
- We will have our regular meeting at 18:30 or shortly after the scholarship ceremony.
- During the regular meeting, we will be having elections for the officer positions of President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer.
- If anyone is interested in any of these positions, please contact Veteran Mike Hand to let him know.

We hope ALL VETERANS will attend.
