Started on 1978 by Tony Wise, the Worldloppet continues to grow and bring the sport of skiing to all. As global climate continues to evolve holding races gets harder and harder and the need to innovate is now more critical than ever. The American Birkebeiner Ski Foundation is helping lead the way!

Proud to be partnering with Telemark Biathlon!

Telemark Biathlon Club is the new home of biathlon in the Northwoods of Wisconsin! Telemark Biathlon, partnering with The American Birkebeiner, is operating the Sandager Biathlon Venue with 12 targets located at the trailhead in Cable, WI and are launching the first ever Youth Biathlon Summer Training Program this week! The Telemark Biathlon Club has been a long-time dream of many in the community who have worked tirelessly and donated generously to bring us to this inaugural week. The Telemark Biathlon Club has state of the art Anschutz 1827 rifles and for their athletes to train and compete with, thanks to phenomenal donors and Club founders. 8 athletes from the Hayward Nordic High School Ski Team have been invited to pilot this new program through the middle of July: Hael Dums, Evelyn Morse, Kajsa Nelson, Karl Nelson, Izzy Menk, Maddy Schwartz, Sully Sportel, and Norah Werner. To introduce these young Nordic Skiers to the exciting, challenging, and world famous sport of biathlon, the Telemark Biathlon Club is honored to welcome Paul Schommer, recently retired US Biathlon Team two-time Olympian, multiple-World Championship Competitor, All-American NCAA Collegiate Nordic Skier (College of St Scholastica) as a guest coach along with beloved Hayward Coaches Josie and Dave Nelson!
