Had some time on the track today.

Everyone has been asking about tires. I haven’t found a tire that doesn’t work well. I used new and bald worn out tires and there was a good amount of grip. I would say that you would not need pins but that can change if we get a lot of cars on the track. I would always have a set but wouldn’t make that your pure tire plan. Also of note i didnt have hardly any tire wear after running my open cars compared to other tracks that i have ran this may change when the track starts to rubber up

The track surface had some diveting from packing but nothing that would prevent traction or control issues. A lot of them started to come out later on as more cars made more laps on the track. There isn’t any waviness to the track and is pretty consistent with reasonable banking.

Overall i feel that we are in the right direction to have a really nice racing surface with some good speed, traction, and handling.

For those that are coming tomorrow to put some laps on the track.

There are two big buildings that are blue and yellow. The building that is oriented east and west is the RC track building. The other building is our horse stables.

At the intersection of 449th ave and 179th st there is a driveway with street lights. Please use that driveway and park in that area.

Tomorrow afternoon around 4pm we are gonna put some cars on the track and if you want to come out and turn left, you’re more than welcome to come out.

If you are going to purchase anything from the hobby store please bring cash as we haven’t setup the register yet.

We will have some light food on hand for purchase if you get hungry

No charge for putting your cars on the track.

Track Update:

We have the track formed. It is still a little bumpier than I would like but it is also the first time a rc car has driven on it so now I can make it much smoother.

A little more work and we should be good to race on it. Will post when we think we will have our first race.

December 13th Race is Cancelled:

My heating and air guy had some tragic family issues and will not have any heat installed by race day.

As a result I am installing pellet stoves in the pit and track area and they won’t arrive until the 15th and will take me a few days to install.

I am heating the areas with nipco heaters but the fumes are just too unpleasant.

We will look for a date in early January so I can maintain a constant comfortable heat level so I can water the track without any concerns for freezing and so the racers can race without getting sick.

I ask for your understanding regarding this. Thanks for all your support and following this far.

Here is a list of classes.

Open Short Course Mod
Open Sprint/410
360 Sprint
Late Model (both SC and 1/10)
B-Mod (stock slash and new Traxxas Modified)

The rules will be updated first part if next week.

Open is open
No tire restrictions in any class

I am not going to get crazy with the rules. I know what needs to be applied to maintain competitiveness. That is what the rules will focus on.

If there are 3 or more cars for any class not listed then we will make a class. (Best option is to gather up some friends and let me know the car count so I can plan for trophies in that class before the 13th and add it to the program).
