What a couple of weeks it has been for the Janousek Racing team!
We kicked things off on the Fourth of July in Salina, where Paxton put together another impressive run, bringing home a 4th place finish. It was a great way to head into a short break from the racetrack.
After spending a few days making memories together on a family vacation in sunny Florida, we came home and got right back to reality. In true racer fashion, there wasn’t much time to unpack. Teejay literally went straight from the airport to the racetrack Thursday night in Colby to kick off what was supposed to be a five day swing of racing. If that’s not dedication to the sport, I don’t know what is.
We were able to get our heat races in Thursday night before Mother Nature had other plans. Unfortunately, the rain rolled in before the feature events, bringing the night to an early end. We would have loved the chance to see what both cars could do in the feature, but that’s racing.
Friday night we were back at WaKeeny Speedway, and both cars gave us plenty to be excited about. Paxton battled his way to a 12th place finish, while Ryan put together one of his best drives of the season. Starting all the way back in 20th, he worked his way through the field to finish an impressive 8th. Every week we continue to learn more about this new car, and it’s exciting to finally see all the hard work paying off.
Saturday night, Paxton had other commitments, so Ryan and Teejay made the trip to Salina. Ryan continued building on the momentum from the night before and drove to an outstanding 3rd place finish. It’s been incredible watching this team continue to improve week after week.
Unfortunately, we had to cut the remainder of our racing week short because of prior obligations, but we left feeling more encouraged than ever about where this team is headed.
A huge thank you to First Class Chassis for helping point us in the right direction. The changes we’ve made have completely changed our program for the better, and the results are starting to speak for themselves. We are making huge strides this season, and we truly believe we’re only scratching the surface.
The season is far from over, and we have several exciting races coming up that we’re looking forward to. Behind the scenes, we’re also getting Sammy’s go kart ready for the track with a brand new wrap. Even our youngest Janousek Racing team member deserves to race in style! We can’t wait to see him out there representing the team.
Thank you to our families, crew, sponsors, and everyone who continues to support Janousek Racing. Whether you’re in the grandstands, in the pits, or cheering us on from home, we appreciate every one of you.
We’ll see you at the next one! 🏁
