Twas the night before Nationals and in every house, not an engine not running and scales broken out. The ballast hung by the fuel cell with care, in hopes that the setup would be perfect out there.

The racers are excited and can't sleep in their beds, while visions of green and checkered flags in their heads. Mama's the crew chief and I with my helmet, tells me to be safe and fast as a comet.

When out on the track there arose such a spatter, a lifter backed out which is no laughing matter. Away to the engine the crew with a flash, tore open valve covers to fix in a dash.

New numbers and vinyl look pretty and glow, yearning to make it into the big show. When, what to my wondering eyes should appear, seems this is my chance to make it this year!!!!

IT'S RACE DAY! And on this day what can make a Mom more proud than to see two of her sons names in the "Inside IMCA Racing" newspaper for the Sunflower Classic at Hays! Maybe the fact that just above them is a picture of Mike Nichols! An excellent racer and role model for any kid. From what I've seen he's not only a great race car driver but a real man who is kind, humble, genuine, and a first class professional. A great Ambassador for IMCA stock cars! LET'S GO RACING!

Had a blast running the Mike "Huey" Hughes Sunflower Classic in Hays, KS!
Didn't make the main the first night but made some changes and found some speed on night #2. Josh started 2nd in his heat and picked up a 2nd place finish. Zach started 2nd in his heat and finished 3rd. Josh started 12th in the main and fished 12th while Zach started 15th and finished 21st in his first official IMCA Stock Car event!
Huge thanks to everyone who has supported us over the years and can't wait to put on another show at the next dirt track!

Had a pretty awesome weekend at Lamar Speedway and Airport Speedway. Saturday at Lamar Josh bent a pushrod battling for 2nd in the a main with his father Don who later finished 4th overall. Sunday we headed to Garden City, KS to take the night off and watch the midgets battle at Airport Raceway. Next week we'll be at I-76 Speedway for fan appreciation night! Bring your family and friends and meet the drivers during intermission next Saturday night!
