Week 5 of the Mountain Lakes Summer Ladder League is complete! Currently Jeff Higel is at the top of the ladder! Julie Albers leads all women players and finished week 5 in the 10th overall slot. Dave Jenkins also finished the week as Points Leader with an amazing overall total of 187 points and 100% scoring record! Fifty plus players are expected to compete in the final week of ladder play at the Clay County Sports Complex on Saturday morning! Have fun everyone!

Reminder: Ladder League play will continue on Saturday mornings at the Clay County Sports Complex in Hayesville beginning at 8 AM. Two courts will remain available for open play each Saturday morning during the remaining weeks of the six week competition. Members of the Mountain Lakes Pickleball group welcome area players to our eight beautiful outdoor courts for the annual Independence Day Tournament on Saturday, July 4th! A full slate of players have registered for the event. Play begins at 8:30 AM in the random draw partner, round-robin format tourney. Enjoy the day as we celebrate America’s 250th birthday!

Reminder: Come celebrate America’s 250th birthday on Saturday, July 4th on the Hayesville outdoor courts with Mountain Lakes Pickleball! The group will be hosting a tournament followed by a traditional July 4th lunch! The tourney will be played on the eight outdoor courts. The format will be random draw partners for each game and all players will play in approximately six games. PLAYERS MUST REGISTER THIS WEEK at the Hayesville courts or by contacting Mike Gonzalez ([email protected]). There will not be a registration fee but donations are accepted. Once max player # is reached, players may be put on a waiting list. Players should arrive by 8AM on the 4th to sign in with play beginning at 8:30.

Morning spectators lined the net and fence to dry from the low hanging fog! They didn’t seem bothered by the noise and movement on the adjoining courts - but they also did not seem interested in giving up their court!
