Recently, someone said in a comment that Kendo is weak and only through the study of kenjitsu can one understand the true use of the (Japanese) sword. In my mind, this is a flawed perception and leads one to err in one's thought process about what the way of the sword truly means. One must study all schools related to the sword in order to be "one with the way of the sword". To say that "Kendo is weak" and that studying only kenjitsu is the "true use of the sword" shows a lack of understanding of the way of the sword. The more correct path is to study kendo and kenjitsu, iaido and iaijitsu, as well as tameshigiri to include sh*to and shizan. That is the only the beginning to understanding the way of the sword. Add to that the study of akido and akijitsu, judo and jujitsu, kyudo and kyujutsu perhaps with a stury of yabusame, as well as tanto jitsu, naginata-jitsu and yari-jitsu and you begin to get a glimmer of the true way of the sword and a deeper understanding....maybe...if you're lucky
