Don't let age define you!!

My first tournament after reaching the golden age of 70, the Red Dragon Summer tournament.
I competed in two divisions and I was able to come home with two gold medals.
I thank my Texas Martial Arts family for continuing to set the bar high so that I will want to do the same on the West Coast!!

I have had several phone conversations with Hanshi Tadashi Yamash*ta in the past, and met him in Pasadena at the 2024 International Karate Tournament.
On Monday, July 28th, I had the honor of spending time with Hanshi Yamash*ta . He welcomed me into his house and showed me the room he uses as his dojo. The room is adorned with several samurai swords along with artifacts he has collected through his years of travel.
We ate lunch at Sumo's and we shared stores of Steve Fisher who was the consummate competitor. He not only placed 1st in fighting, kata, and weapons kata, but also won Grand Champion regularly in each of those divisions.
We also spoke about Hanshi Yamash*ta's movie career. He appeared in approximately 20 movies with many notable Hollywood actors along with many outstanding martial artists.
He has an affiliate school in California and eight other states. He also has affiliate schools in Bulgaria, Ukraine, Israel, and in Greece. He is scheduled to hold seminars in Bulgaria and Greece the beginning of August.
We will meet up again upon his return.

No definitive dates or a finalized workout curriculum set, but look for something BIG coming to Steve Fisher Karate this November!!
I wish I could say more, but I am sworn to secrecy.
